Staying in place for a while in Boise, ID

We are staying with my sister Kelli, her husband Vince, and their daughter Abby for while. My mother is flying in from Alabama tomorrow evening. We are looking forward to a good visit.
We went to Camel's Back Park in Northern Boise. There was a sandy cliff just right for climbing.

Abby, Michael, and John.

Vince, Michael, John and Abby at the creek.

Just hanging out.

Everybody is looking up at a very big Owl in the tree......except for the family in the background. They were collecting owl vomit chunks for fun. No kidding.

Video as we were just rolling along in Northern Nevada.

We surprised Abby when we arrived a day earlier in Boise, ID than she expected.

Some kids just don't know what to do with whipped cream. These do.

It's a go. Retired with no job, no house, no debt, and no worries!

Just before leaving March Air Reserve Base at Riverside, CA where I turned in my blackberry and we started the trip.

School can be anywhere.

Driving into Las Vegas - this was when the thought of how cool this was seemed to hit us.

On Hwy 93 in nowhere Nevada, with no cars within at least 10 miles of either direction, we stopped in the middle of the road and Shelli took a turn driving.

The view from the front.

Michael's room on the 1st floor - DVD player and Xbox are in the front just out of view.

John's room on the top floor - He has a DVD player and Xbox too. Life is tough.

Maui is the navigator.

Parked near Great Basin National Park in Nevada for the night. We haven't completely settled into a groove yet. We aren't sure where to place everything. There's no hurry.

Fresh snow in the morning. The van you see hooked up here will have been to 49 states by the time we finish the trip. The boys will have gone to all 50!

Great Basin National Park. We didn't spend much time in this area. It was cold!

Of course we did stop for the essentials like snowball fights.

Two brothers 17 months apart keep it interesting.

Going over a pass at 7500 feet. The RV just hunkered down and pulled everything over the top at about 40 miles per hour.

Along this stretch of road there were many mirages. This one looked like a small lake right on the road.

I really liked this area on Hwy 93 in Northern Nevada. The pictures don't do it justice and it was probably the most scenic drive we have ever done.  I wanted to just stop and live here where there were great views in every direction. Shelli was concerned about where we would get milk, food, etc.. Small details.

Maui assisted Michael with his schoolwork.

We decided to pull over and take a picture here with the mountains as a backdrop. There was snow blowing off the peaks and the 360 view here was very beautiful.
